Reading has a high profile in our school.  We have a large fiction and non-fiction library and there are timetabled sessions for both KS1 and 2 in the library each week.  We use a variety of reading schemes in KS1 and the text is chosen to match the ability of the child.

A special text is chosen for each term in KS2 and many of the literacy activities are based on this.  Staff monitor children’s reading regularly and encourage children to share their enjoyment of texts with others.
