The children at St. Joseph’s are assessed formatively throughout the year and summatively in the Autumn and Summer terms, during their exams.

Teacher assessment takes place continually, with particular emphasis on numeracy and literacy.  Results of the teacher assessments are entered periodically onto Classroom Monitor, a database that logs the children’s progress in line with National Curriculum Standards.

Children in Year 6 are prepared for entrance exams to the secondary schools of their choice, if necessary.
