Head Teacher's Welcome

On behalf of everyone at St Joseph's independent school and nursery, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you.

Here at St Joseph's we describe ourselves as a village school and nursery in the heart of the city because that's exactly what we are. We provide the care and community feel of a village school by getting to know your children extremely well and understanding what helps them to learn in the best way. At the same time, we have a wonderfully diverse array of children from all over the world and we are able to take advantage of all the fantastic learning and cultural opportunities available to us from our city centre location.

All of this combines to create an excellent learning environment, where all chidren are cared for and understood in small, well-supported classes accessing a broad and rich curriculum from our committed and experienced staff.

We have nursery staff trained in the Marte Meo approach which helps to identify and enhance opportunities for personal growth and wellbeing.

As a not-for-profit independent school, all fees go towards paying our staff, resourcing our learning and maintaining our building. No fees go into the pockets of proprietors, which means we are able to set very competitive prices.
