Curriculum
At St Joseph's we follow the national curriculum, which we enrich and enhance in a variety of ways such as squash lessons, tennis coaching, ice skating, regular visits to the central library, weekly visits from Breeze the reading dog and many others.
Due to our small class sizes, which will never go above 20 children, and teaching assistant support we are able to adapt and amend our curriculum to suit the needs of all learners whether that is to offer further challenge or provide more support.
We use the Little Wandle phonics scheme in our early years and Key Stage 1 to promote early reading and we White Rose maths throughout the school to ensure quality and consistency in mathematics teaching.
Our curriculum is planned around a two year cycle. Overviews for this can be seen below:
Reception (Acorns Class)
Year 1 and Year 2 (Chestnuts Class)
Year 3 and Year 4 (Hollies Class)
