Our Learning

Our Topics this Term are….
Traditional Tales:
We will be looking at different traditional tales, and look into the characters and the settings using adjectives to describe them
Under the Sea:
We will be looking at different animals found in the sea and the coral reef and the impact plastic has on the animals.
 
In maths this term we will be…
  • To 20 and beyond

  • Manipulate compose and decompose
  • Sharing and grouping
  • Visualise,  build and map
  • Make connections
As writers and readers, we will be…
  • Blending sounds into words
  • Read common exception words (tricky words)
  • Form lower case and capital letters correctly
  • Spell words by identifying the sounds.
  • Begin to write short sentences using capital letters and full stops.
 
PSHE: we will be focusing on ‘Relationships: Building positive and healthy relationships’ and ‘Changing me: coping positively with change’
P.E.: in PE we will be focusing on athletics and games.
Understanding of the World: For the first part of the term are looking at Castles from around the world. The second part of the term in understanding of the world we will be focusing on Artefacts found in the sea, as well as the coral reef and plastic and pollution and the impacts on the animals.

PE Details

PE days for The Acorns is Monday.

Homework

Each week, the children will receive homework in their homework books. Each activity is based on what they have been learning about during that week.

Enrichment Activities

Each week the children have the opportunity to read with Breeze the labradoodle, take part in super star sports, have specialist French, art and music lessons and participate in weekly activities in their school houses.
