This year World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March to celebrate reading books, authors and illustrators. Reading is something that we value at St.Joseph’s and we understand the importance of children getting enjoyment from their reading. At home you can encourage your child further by visiting the website www.worldbookday.com and getting involved with some of the many great activities online.
We would like each child, from Reception to Year 6, to come to school dressed as a character from a book. Please make sure the character is from a book and not a comic or film. Children have already received a £1 Book Token, which an be exchanged at all participating bookshops.
There will be various book related activities throughout the day, which all children will partake in. Please encourage your child to bring in their favourite book with them on this day.
We look forward to seeing all the amazing book characters on Thursday.
